At Green Light, we understand there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to helping adolescents with emotional and behavioral issues. If you're ready to explore treatment options, our caring, empathetic staff is here to help your entire family grow and learn together. Start by reaching out to us online or giving our dispatch team a call at 440.941.0776. Once you contact us and are connected with our admissions team, they will complete a screening to help determine the appropriate level of care.

We specialize in preteens, teens, and young adults. Our different programs are designed to support specific age ranges, so depending on your child’s needs, we’ll work with you to figure out the most appropriate treatment plan.

Learning and growth require real-world experiences.  Combined with traditional talk therapy, experiential therapy helps them feel comfortable processing their emotions while doing something they enjoy. Therapy sessions might take place in an music studio, coffee shop, or simply taking a walk outdoors.  Here are some examples of experiential therapy activities:

  • Creative expression: Using artforms such as music, drawing, painting, sculpting, or other art forms help teens explore and process emotions. Creative expession can be particularly effective for teens who struggle to express themselves in direct conversation.
  • Outdoor activities:Engaging in activities like walking, hiking, or playing sports can help reduce stress and improve mood. These activities also promote physical health and provide a break from the traditional therapy setting, allowing for a more relaxed and natural environment to process thoughts and feelings.
  • Mindfulness exercisesBy practicing meditation, yoga, or other mindfulness techniques teens can improve their self-awareness and focus. These exercises teach valuable skills for managing stress, staying present, and regulating emotions.
  • Group outings:Participating in experiential group therapy activities like team-building exercises, adventure courses, or community service projects fosters social skills and teamwork. Group outings in experiential therapy create opportunities for teens to build trust, improve communication, and support each other in a shared experience.
